Complement to Create a Color Row

Decision 2: color row

The color combination blue, green, gold and yellow is particularly suitable to create a color row because blue and gold form an angular harmony. The colors associated with trust represent a color row with angular harmony:

The additional colors do not influence the associative effect. To give you an explanation, I need to go back a little bit: The colors indicated in the association charts have to be assessed and need to be assigned to the color wheel:

  • Blue corresponds to the blue of the color wheel
  • Green corresponds to the green of the color wheel
  • Red corresponds to the red of the color wheel
  • Gold corresponds to a fanning in the color range around yellow and yolk
  • Yellow corresponds to the yellow of the color wheel
  • Pink corresponds to the magenta of the color wheel (pink = light magenta)
  • Orange corresponds to the range around yolk and orange of the color wheel
  • Violet corresponds to the violet of the color wheel
  • Brown corresponds to the range around yolk and orange (brown = dark orange)

The following colors are not included in the association charts: cyan, lilac, lime, turquoise and yolk. We will have to assign these colors by ourselves, though this is somewhat problematic. Especially with regard to associations, there is no purely logical way of assigning colors. Only a verified analysis or survey could in principle lead to a reliable answer. Since we cannot resort to such a reliable answer and everything else would be mere speculation, everyone will have to find an answer for themselves.

My own opinion:
Cyan rather reminds of blue than of green, and I therefore consider cyan and blue to be equivalent as regards associations.
As to lilac and violet, there are often great uncertainties; these two colors are frequently mixed up. I therefore consider lilac and violet to be equivalent as regards associations.
I see lime rather as leaning toward green than toward yellow, and I therefore consider lime and green to be equivalent as regards associations.
When looking at turquoise, I see it as leaning toward green and not toward blue. I therefore consider turquoise and green to be equivalent as regards associations.
Yolk has a special position: On the one hand it rather reminds me of orange than of yellow, and I therefore consider yolk and orange to be equivalent as regards associations. On the other hand, gold can best be described as a color sequence ranging from yolk to yellow due to its surface structure. If the color yolk or a yolk/yellow sequence reminds me of gold or if it arouses the associations linked with gold, then I consider yolk and gold to be equivalent as regards associations.

After having assigned the colors, we will not have any difficulties to create a color row including the colors associated with trust. The added colors lime, turquoise and cyan are already included, so to speak: Lime is equivalent to green, turquoise is equivalent to green and cyan is equivalent to blue. We thus have found an optimal solution with this color row: All associated colors are integrated, there is not one single color too much, an angular harmony is included as well, and finally it looks altogether harmonic due to the color row:
