Harmony Theory
Preface to Creativity
A creative color scheme manifests itself in unconventional and original combinations between colors and objects. A homepage designed with unconventional colors may attract even more attention. Contents, products or corporate logos that are presented in an unconventional way definitely increase the chances of being noted in the internet, which is very colorful anyway.
It is paradoxical per se to demand a formula for creativity: A formula is always a list of ingredients and methods leading to a known, clearly defined product. Therefore, a formula can only be used to produce something known and something that is already existing, but in no way to create something new and creative. So, there simply is no formula for a creative product, because this would mean that we already have the ingredients for a "cake" that has not yet been invented.
The alchemists in the Middle Ages were deceived by a similar belief: As we all know, they adopted the most incredible methods in search of a formula for the production of gold. And supposing they had found a formula: Just at the moment this formula had become known to the public, so that everybody would have been in the position to easily mix their own gold, gold would not have been precious any longer. Since everything that is abundantly available generally is quite cheap - irrespective of the actual quality, which most often cannot be measured on the basis of materialistic criteria.
Nevertheless, there are rules that help to avoid mistakes or to make as few mistakes as possible when trying to create a harmonic color composition.
