Colors that Support Certain Angular Harmonies

Especially the complementary contrast magenta/green can be influenced positively by adding a further color; though, it then no longer is an angular contrast: Here you can use colors from the color range yellow/yolk as well as from the color range blue/violet:

supported with yellow/yolk Supported with yellow/yolk

supported with blue/violet Supported with blue/violet

This positive effect can best be observed in the mode 3-color harmony of the Color Selector:
First, you have to set the angular separation to 0°. Then, the background has to be set to the values R=0, G=146, B=63. Now, there is green in the big field and magenta in the small ones. Please activate the button "Adjust Colors Separately" (red cross on black exclamation point) and click on the small field on the right. The small field now can be adjusted separately. The positive effect becomes very clear, if the small field is either set to yellow/yolk or blue/violet.

It is rather problematic to use only green and magenta. Using black or white at the same time will always have a favorable effect. Black could be used to form a dividing line between magenta and green (so-called "church window technique"). The combination with white has a bright and pleasant effect, black seems rather dark and gloomy.
